We create brands that are deeply connected to vision, rich with meaning, and crafted to inspire, align, and endure. Beautiful Brand Intelligence.

Orizzonte is a collection of six architecturally designed private studios in the heart of McLaren Vale. Created by founder Jo Francis, the vision was to offer a distinctly different kind of luxury accommodation, shaped by place, perspective and the beauty of unwinding.
With vineyards stretching towards the coast, the Onkaparinga Gorge in the distance and the Adelaide Hills beyond, the setting offered a clear starting point. Orizzonte needed a brand that captured this expansive yet quiet experience, establishing its own presence within one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions.
StudioBand® was engaged to translate that vision into a complete brand experience, from strategy and identity through to the website, signage, guest touchpoints and launch. Built around the idea ‘Where land meets sky’, the brand draws on the horizon as both a defining feature of the landscape and an invitation to step away from the everyday.

The word ‘Orizzonte’ translates to ‘horizon’ in Italian, a meaning carefully drawn into both the wordmark and monogram. A fine line runs through the wordmark, tracing a horizon through its letterforms. The monogram brings a series of horizon lines together to form an ‘O’, with strokes delicately changing in weight. Each mark is precisely crafted, carrying a connection to the landscape through line and proportion.

McLaren Vale has an established identity built around wine, food and landscape. Orizzonte needed to belong confidently within that setting while offering a fresh expression of the region.
Our approach centred on the feeling of being there: space, stillness and a sense of distance from everyday life. Luxury is simply communicated through thoughtfulness, restraint and attention to detail, with the brand allowing for the qualities of the accommodation and its surroundings to come forward.
‘Where land meets sky’ brought this thinking into focus. The horizon became a connection between the physical outlook and the sense of escape at the heart of Jo’s vision, giving every part of the brand a shared point of reference.
The central idea informed every part of the brand, from the construction of the identity to the pace of the website. A rich, earthy palette grounds the design in its surroundings, while delicate typography and generous space give it an open, airy quality.
Care is evident in the smallest details. The scale of the type, the placement of a line and the space around an image are all carefully crafted. Together, these decisions create compositions that feel poised and unhurried, echoing the peace and serenity of the accommodation itself.
This consideration extends across signage, wayfinding, merchandise, guest communications and launch materials. Colour, typography, materiality and imagery work together, creating a cohesive experience that moves naturally between digital and physical environments. Each application carries the same quiet attention, allowing the architecture, interiors and landscape to remain central.

Warmth, light and texture shape the photographic direction. Moving between interiors, architectural details and the surrounding landscape, the imagery captures the atmosphere of Orizzonte and the pleasure of slowing down. It gives guests a sense of how a stay might feel, as well as what they could discover.

The website introduces the experience through space, movement, typography and imagery. Its measured pace reflects the calm of the destination, allowing the studios, interiors and landscape to unfold as parts of the same story. The sense of escape begins with the first encounter.

Orizzonte has a distinctive brand grounded in its setting and shaped around the experience it offers. The identity expresses luxury through confidence, space and considered detail, complementing the architecture, Georgie Shepherd’s interiors and the surrounding landscape.
By connecting strategy, identity and the guest experience through one clear idea, the brand gives Orizzonte a coherent foundation for launch and beyond. From discovering the destination online to arriving at a studio, each interaction reinforces the same invitation: to slow down, reconnect and experience McLaren Vale from a different perspective.
